Managing conflict around a shared resource
GreenE2 coordinates an initiative concerning rules for motorised water traffic on Lake Mucharskie. The project combines legal, environmental and economic analysis with civic engagement and institutional dialogue.
Objective
To develop a feasible model for coexistence among different lake users that improves safety, reduces conflict and preserves the potential for different forms of recreation and investment.
Approach
Regulatory premise
GreenE2 supports clear rules and zoning of the lake rather than a complete ban on motorised water sports. The key is to create understandable rules for coexistence and reduce conflict between different uses of the lake.
